The little Afghan girl (Rainbow)
In a rugged land with barren hills,
red poppy fields and winter chills,
lived a tiny girl with wide-set eyes,
who dreamed of life beyond her skies.

Her parents died in a roadside bomb,
she'd seen their names on a white stone tomb.
Her auntie told her "They're now with God."
Yet, belief in God she'd found quite odd.

For what kind of God brings war and pain?
She wondered "What would be His gain?
If there is a God why can't He see,
all of this hurt inside of me?"

Then one night as she lay sleeping,

"Miss Carmichael?" Looking up from the chair I sit in to the five doctors sitting opposite me.

Judging me. Securitizing everything about me. Wanting to really know if I'm cured from the things I see. From the imagination that I created. That's what they think the monsters are but they are real. One stands behind me outside the door. I don't let myself acknowledge that the security guard is one. He has sharp black claws and horns. Demon is what I call him. A demon monster.

"You told us when you first came here that there were really monsters. That you could see people who pretended to be human but really you could see through that. You Lost Souls, One by ~tealeaf27
Never forget to lock the doorMy parents left again to go to the store. My 2 year old sister, Chelcie, was left with me to watch over. She was in an irritable mood at the time they decided to leave, so my mother gave her a prescribed dose of Morphine to calm her down.

They left at about 6:00 PM, when it was just starting to get dark out. Summer nights here don’t fully come until around 7:30.

Chelcie has Cerebral Palsy, so she is unable to eat on her own, and her breathing is sometimes limited. The only sound in our entire house is the quiet hissing of Chelcie’s oxygen, and the occasional whirr of her feeding pump. Hearing the voice that is so ingrain in me now. The pain and anger in that voice makes my body not react to the demand. Frozen in place. Lost and scared. Scared that I will never hear that voice again. Never hear words come from those lips. Never touch those lips with my own.

It’s very difficult to determine. Some things are physical and some are mental. Some things that define you cannot be changed and others you wouldn’t change for the life of you.     "Don't mind her. She's just cranky. Anyways the name's Marshall Lee." I said nonchalant.
    "Oh.. Okay. My name's Fionna. I'm 16. You?" She asked, her blue eyes intoxicating me.
    "18. Well, I play the guitar." I said trying to impress her.
    "Mathematical! I like to adventure!" She said smiling brightly.

The Grim Reaper: A Promise KeptThe death of a best friend.

MY best friend. We made a pact with each other, long ago, that if either of us dies, the other will go to their funeral dressed as the Grim Reaper.

Well, she died first. Faulty car brakes on an icy road took her away from the world. And now, I'm keeping the promise.

My parents have a cow over how I'm dressing. My mother wants me to wear something "nice." Something black.

Fine. I'll wear whatever they want me to wear. But I'm wearing my Grim Reaper cloak over it.

During the ceremony, I stand in the back, an ominous short impersonation of Death.

Night of the HuntMy feet pounding the wet muddy earthy below my feet. I can hear my heart thumping in my chest as I try to run so fast. Terrified and so alone in a big forest where there's no one for miles away to hear my pleas for help. There only thing that can hear me is the thing I'm running from.

Why is this happening to me? I don't want to die. I know I will die if that thing gets me. Its hunting me. I'm just prey to it. Nothing but something that can be killed with ease. Some rabid animal gone wrong.

I run through the trees and flinch when the branches cut me as I run pass them but I don't allow myself to stop because of the pain. No I must keep runnNight of the Hunt by ~tealeaf27
